We believe deeply that healthy partnerships with other individuals and organizations are crucial as Christ Community strives to embody our corporate mission.
The goal of CCC Extension Ministries is to coordinate and support the Ministry Partnerships we, as a faith community, are committed to. Here are some ways we are doing this:
We give financially to our Ministry Partners.
To read more about our partnerships, search by region: KC Metro, National, or International. A few of our Ministry Partners serve in creative access countries and we have refrained from posting info about them here.
We pray for our Ministry Partners.
On the first Saturday of every month, we gather to share a meal of fellowship and to pray for the Ministry Partners we support. We intercede specifically for circumstances and requests our Ministry Partners have made known to us; then we mail a post-card of encouragement to each. Reports from Ministry Partners--both near and far--are often a part of our gathering as well.
We cooperate in outreach projects with our Ministry Partners.
As a church community, we engage in cooperative outreach quarterly:
Winter: We join with our sister church, Christian Fellowship Baptist, to make Thanksgiving meals available to those in need. In December, we feature one Ministry Partner to be a recipient of tangible gifts through our Walk to the Manger.
Spring: We join with our metro-Ministry Partners to facilitate Serve Day.
Summer: We partner with CFBC again, this time working together to build a Habitat for Humanity home.
Fall: We host Compassion Sunday and invite those in our community to consider sponsoring a child through Compassion International.
We encourage volunteer service with our Ministry Partners.
There are wonderful ways to volunteer! This might be helping to feed homeless people, tutoring inner city kids with their studies, counseling unwed girls who are pregnant and considering whether to choose life or abortion for their babies, serving a meal to needy people at a rescue mission, reaching out to teens or building a relationship with an international student who needs a friend with God's love in his/her heart.
We support and go on trips to work with our Ministry Partners.
Every year, different groups from our community gather finances and supplies to travel to Ministry Partners who are not within the KC Metro Area. We're convinced that our relationship is both challenged and strengthened through the live-interaction and first-hand exposure these journeys provide for us. |
